Shanghai local government stopped issuing official business invitation letter

Friday, September 9, 2016: Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipality, Pudong New Area Foreign Affairs Office, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce have stopped accepting applying and issuing “Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit” and “Confirmation Letter of Invitation” (this policy mainly for Chinese M visa (business visa), but the Z Visa (working visa), short time Z Visa, as well as Chinese overseas visa office requested are except for).

This new policy means, such as the company resisted in shanghai want to invite foreigners to China for business trip, just issue an invitation letter to foreigners by itself. The foreigners can apply the M Visa in Chinese overseas visa office by themselves, and no need to apply it through the government. But it need to be checked with the local Chinese overseas visa office if this invitation letter should be original or just scan.
